The View From Hare has partnered with the Make Mine Chocolate!™ Campaign to help promote their mission that educates the public about the responsibilities involved in keeping a companion rabbit before a rabbit is brought home. This time of year, especially, kids beg their parents for a bunny of their own. They appear on packages of candy and stores are filled with all things rabbit. Sadly, in the weeks and months following Easter, unwanted, former Easter rabbits fill local rabbit rescues and humane societies. The unlucky ones are dumped outside which makes for an early death sentence. We don’t want this to happen to innocent rabbits. Raising a rabbit is a lot of work. I was one of those kids that always asked for a rabbit, but each time I got the best gift- a stuffed rabbit instead. And, I still have those stuffed rabbits. It’s a gift that will last a lifetime!
We want all rabbits to be happy and cared for properly. So, before you give a rabbit to a kid, read up on the facts here. For more information on the Make Mine Chocolate!™ campaign visit www.makeminechocolate.org.
