My First Birthday

Blitzen birthday

Hi everybunny. I am 1 year old now. Yipee! I celebrated my birthday on October 29. It was a nice day. First, Mom, Dad and my sisters sang “Happy Birthday” and gave me my favorite treat...OATMEAL! It was soo good! And then, I got new toys. Aren’t they great? I am going to have so much fun playing with them! In fact, I’ve already started to chew apart the big square and one of the little chews (not sure what they are, but they’re good). Turning 1 is so much fun! Thanks Nilla, Kayla, Mom and Dad for a fun day! -Blitzen

This and That

Well, well, well. I’m back! It’s been awhile since my last blog. My sisters have done a great job blogging. The time has gone by fast. It’s September and I can’t believe summer is almost over. Fall is right around the corner, which means more time outside! More stroller rides, going to the park, and sitting by the deck feeling that cool breeze. Yippee!
Here’s an update on the bonding process with my sister, Blitzen. It is going pretty well. A few weeks ago, Mom and Dad took us for a stroller ride. That was fun! We cuddled up together. We haven’t been put in the playpen together yet. When she’s in it, I get to go up to it to see her and sniff her and vice-versa. We have sat together on occasion. Once in a while there may be a few nips, but nothing serious. Hopefully soon, we can play together. I’d like to snuggle up to her. She is soo much bigger than me.
OK, you may be wondering “what did I do to my picture?” I got ahold of Mom’s iPhone and came across this retro photo app. So I decided to give a whirl. SHHHHH, don’t tell her! Oh, right, she’ll find out about it when she reads this. I was good on it- no nibbles or scratches! I hope you like the picture. -Kayla

Birthday Time

Nilla and Kayla birthday

Hey everybun! Another year has come and gone. Kayla and I just celebrated our birthdays. I turned 8 two weeks ago and Kayla just turned 5. We had a great day! The sun was out and we went to the park near us for a stroll. Both of us got presents. I got this wood chew toy with holes in it and it comes with a bell. I like it. Kayla got a wooden ball with, uh, I’d say antennas coming out of it. She likes tossing it around her home. Since we can’t eat cake, we had a birthday treat. Know what it was? Clue it’s our favorite treat....OATMEAL!!!!!! I just love birthdays. Check out our photos page to see more pictures from our birthday. They’re really cute! I’ve gotta hop back home now. Chat with you real soon! -Nilla

Free Run

Blitzen under bench

Hi everyone! I have some big news to tell you. The past few weeks I have been training to get free run of our bunny room instead of going in the playpen all the time. And I am happy to say that I have passed! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the playpen- it’s like a funhouse, there’s so much to do in there. But being able to run around our bunny room makes it that much more fun! The possibilities are endless! I can play outside my home more often, go on a scavenger hunt, play hide-and-seek, and I can even run right up to my sisters and give them a little nibble. I just have to stay in the bunny safe area. The bunny safe area means that things are rabbit-proofed, i.e cords are protected, or out of sight, outlets are covered, etc. Sometimes my curiosity gets the better of me and when it does Mom and Dad let me know. But I am a curious bunny so they understand. I know they just want me to be careful. So that’s the big news with me. I am so happy that I am binking! Speaking of binking, I gotta hop back home now. Until next time, keep hopping! -Blitzen

Play Time

Kayla on couch

Hello, there. What a day we had today! First we got to go in our playpen where I chased Nilla around and I built a nest in our willow tent (I like to hide). Our playpen is where we go when we’re out so we stay out of trouble. Wait- did I just say the “T” word? We don’t cause any trouble...never! We’re good 100% of the time! OK, maybe not 100%, I’d say 99.9% of the time. Anyways, there are lots of toys to play with, like a slinky, plastic balls filled with hay, tunnels, and things to jump over. I guess you could say it is like a fun house. Sometimes we do get the “run of the house” which I love, ‘cause I get to hide under this big bench and do my sprints. Afterwards I got a wonderful groom from Nilla and Dad. Then we watched football. Now, I hear some treats going in my dish. It sounds like oatmeal... it is! I’m gonna go now and get it before Nilla eats it all. By the way, did you know that oatmeal is great for our fur coat? It keeps it nice and shiny. -Kayla
